SEPA has a number of critical dates for both Banks and corporates which are shown in the diagram below:

2007

IBAN and BIC become mandatory for SEPA region credit transfers in Euros.

Target2 goes live

2008

Credit Transfer scheme goes live.

SEPA Cards Framework goes live.

PriEuro goes Live.

2009

Direct Debit scheme goes live.

2010

All SEPA schemes are live and mandatory.
